How The Kent Restaurant Awards Work
The awards are open to all establishments located in Kent (including Medway and those areas within the M25 traditionally considered as within Kent).
A short list of restaurants in each of the categories will be determined by online voting from diners. Our judges, to evaluate the dining experience and meet the patrons, front of house staff and chefs in person will then visit finalists.
In addition to looking for exceptional cooking, with exemplary service and general ambience, the panel of judges will be awarding additional marks for the use of fresh, wholesome, local and seasonal produce with known provenance, where there is an emphasis on sustainability and humane farming practices.
Voting - based on marks allocated out of 100 on the following:
- Quality of the food served 50%
- Service 20%
- Ambience 10%
- Local produce 10%
- Provenance/Sustainability 10%
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony and published online by after the event. There will be a prize awarded to a member of the public who nominates a restaurant which makes it to the finals.
The winning person - chosen by ballot, will receive a 3 course dinner for two, with a bottle of house wine, at their choice of award winners restaurants.
