Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms carefully. By continuing to access and use the site you are deemed to have understood and agreed to them. If you do not agree to them you must refrain from using this site and any services available through it.
The Kent Restaurant Awards are open to all establishments located in Kent (including Medway and those areas within the M25 considered traditionally as Kent).

Entry to the voting is open to UK residents aged 18 or over. Employees (and their families) of Kent Restaurant Awards, their agents and anybody professionally connected with the creation or administration of the Awards are not eligible for entry. Voters must be 18 years or over on 12th August 2010.

Votes can be cast up until the 30th November 2010.
Restaurants may nominate their own Restaurants for the awards and  may vote for themselves once. Restaurants may be nominated in 1 category only.

Any person nominating a Restaurant will be entered in the promotion to win a 3 course meal (with wine), for 2 at one of the award winners establishments.

Only one entry per person is permitted. However, voters may vote in all categories if they wish to - but only once in each category, anyone found to have submitted multiple entries will be disqualified and their votes voided.

Mechanisms are in place to prevent multi-voting - these votes will be automatically void.

Restaurants found to be multi voting will be disqualified and all votes for their establishment voided.

To be entered into the voting promotion you must comply in full with the entry requirements and provide a valid e-mail address for us to notify you if you win.

The awards/prizes are set out elsewhere on this web site.

Only votes received by the closing date for voting will be entered into the awards. Kent Restaurant Awards will not be responsible for delays in entries reaching us caused by interruption to internet connections, postal delays or for any other reason whatsoever.

Restaurants will be contacted and visits arranged for the judges to evaluate the dining experience. Each group of judges will evaluate the restaurant against a set list of criteria, which will be made available to the restaurateurs before the visit occurs. Restaurant may be required to provide a complimentary dining experience for the judges.

Judging - A short list of restaurants in each of the categories will be determined by online voting from diners. Our judges, to evaluate the dining experience and meet the patrons, front of house staff and chefs in person will then visit finalists.
In addition to looking for exceptional cooking, with exemplary service and general ambience, the panel of judges will be awarding additional marks for the use of fresh, wholesome, local and seasonal produce with known provenance, where there is an emphasis on sustainability and humane farming practices.

Category winners may be obliged to offer a 3 course dinner for 2 (with a bottle of house wine and water) as a prize to the person nominating the restaurant.

Results of the awards will be announced at the awards ceremony and published online after the event.

The prize winner will be notified by e-mail and may be required to take part in publicity.

The decisions of Kent Restaurant Awards and the judges in all matters under our control will be final and binding. No correspondence regarding the results of the award or draw will be entered into.

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend the awards at any time.

We reserve the right to publish the prize winners' names and/or picture for future publicity and promotions.
